A Slice of the (Big Apple) Pie

Over a year ago, I decided to treat myself to a trip to NYC (pretty sure that’s what the locals call it) with my friends. It was our first time anywhere on the East Coast (well, except for my buddy Ben who's fortunate enough to be in a touring band). So we were super pumped to see what all the fuss was about.

Taking my first ride through the city from JFK, I caught quick glimpses of NY life: pedestrians focused on a beeline to unknown destinations, taxis constantly honking at each other, bar fronts packed with patrons, glowing signs and billboards painting the night, tops of buildings so high up you’re straining your neck just to look. I was peering out of the car window, staring off into a moving postcard illustrating the things to come. And I couldn’t wait to dig right in.

I won't bore you (TBH it's actually far from boring) with the extensive details of our trip. But, overall, it was an amazing city with so much ground to cover. 12 out of 10 I would go back. A special thanks to our friend and unofficial Ambassador of NY, Katie, for showing us around town. Without you, our trip would’ve been half of what it was.

While you're at it, check out the video I put together of our trip.
